The Prophecy Project:
Session 17
WELCOME… To session number Seventeen of the prophecy project. Last session I went through Daniel Chapter 11. We looked into the Abomination of desolation, and how it is found as a major sign of the end times and is used to identify the Assyrian. We also saw how it is connected to the ceasing of sacrifices in the Jewish temple at Jerusalem.
We also went through a series of military campaigns involving the Assyrian and the world’s nations. The battles are inclusive of the battles of Armageddon. This list gives us an order of the battles which we don’t get from the individual accounts of the battles. We now know that the destruction of Egypt precedes the defeat of Russia, and that both precedes the Assyrians entering Jerusalem. We also know that the kings of the east are going to Jerusalem after the abomination of desolation and that the northern alliance brings bad news and that three of the ten nations are destroyed.
Now I want to study Daniel chapter 7, and focus on the Little Horn, and the fourth beast. I will cover most of chapter 7 in a later session on the my NATO book. I will read and comment.
(1). In the first year of Belshazzar, king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions if his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters. (2) Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven strove upon the great sea. (3) And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. (4) The first was like a Lion and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. (5) And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said unto it, arise, devour much flesh. (6) After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. (7)After this I saw in the night visions, behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it; and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. (8) I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots and, behold in this horn were the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
We’ve seen a beast in revelations, which we covered in earlier sessions, which also had ten horns. This beast is the last beast of the four; and is associated with another little horn, which comes up after the first ten were established. He (the little horn) is a man that is speaking great things, he will also pluck up three of the first ten horns.
(9) I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like fiery flame, and his wheels as the burning fire. (10) A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. (11) I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. (12) As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.
This ten horned beast is the beast that is destroyed by God at the end of the age, when God judges the world, this is the last kingdom of man before God sets up his kingdom. The little horn man is sent to tophet, the burning fire.
Note: The other beasts are not destroyed at the same time, they simply lose their dominion. and their governments will be dissolved and replaced in what may be a little more than a year: a time (one year) and a season (a quarter of a year), being 4 seasons to a year.
(13) I saw in the night visions, and behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him before him. (14) And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Clearly this is Messiah’s kingdom which replaces Asshur’s empire which is ruling from Jerusalem.
This event is also seen in Matthew 24:30.
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, (because they will be judged) and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
We covered this same event as seen in revelation chapter 19 in earlier sessions, the man in revelations which is cast into the lake of fire, is called the beast and is also associated with ten horns. We saw the ten horns and the beast destroy the daughter of Babylon, the great whore, the Assyrian is responsible for the destruction of America. With the military might of ten horns which hate the her. The ten horns are in unity with the Assyrian, thus the destruction of America precedes the uprooting of three of the horns. Which is just after the midpoint of the 70th week.
(15) I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me. (16) I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things. (17) These great beasts, which are four are four kings which shall arise out of the earth. (18) but the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever. (19) Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; (20) And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and the mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
I want to point out something from verse 20 which can help us understand the little horn, he is speaking great things and his look is more stout than his fellows. the understanding of this statement lies within the word STOUT, it is the Aramaic word RAB from which comes the word RABBI, it means the master or chief teacher or speaker, he desires to establish doctrine and tell the world what is true, Later in this text it says the little horn thinks to change times and laws. Jesus speaks to this subject in Matthew 23:6&8 He is exposing the spirit behind the Pharisees of his day, he states:
(6) they love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogue, (7)And greetings in the markets, and to be called Rabbi, Rabbi. (8) But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your master, even Christ; and ye are brethren.
The new testament term “Antichrist” as found in 1 John 2:8 means not just an adversary of Christ, but actually an alternative or replacement to Christ. Which teacher will you hear? The Assyrian is an alternative to the gospel of Christ. The Assyrian desires to change God’s laws and times and be master (stout), He will be Antichrist.
(21) I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints (the remnant), and prevail against them; (22) Until the ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. (23) Thus he said, The fourth shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. (we know who the end time king is that devours the whole earth, that none shall peep, it’s Asshur the Assyrian). (24) And the ten horns out of his kingdom are ten kings that shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and shall subdue three kings, (25) and he shall speak great words against the most High (as antichrist), and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and a dividing of time. (26) But the judgment shall sit (come), and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
The four beasts are four empires which will exist at the same time in the end time, they are contemporary with each other, one after the other they have dominion and then lose their dominion, they are not destroyed but only debased. I will go through these kingdoms in a later session.
(27) And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. (28) Hitherto is the end of the matter (subject)
God delegates authority within his kingdom to his saints. He doesn’t relinquish his authority but rather allows his saints to administer his kingdom to the rest of the world, his laws and judgments will stand forever. The world will serve and obey.
..Stop here..
I need to close this session at this point, but next session I want to cover Daniel chapter 8. The little horn which it describes.
Thank you.
